PCL Injury

The PCL similar to ACL connects the femur to tibia. Among peopleTears of PCL are less common as compared to ACL injury. Sports are common cause of PCL injury commonly in Football, Soccer, Skiing, Baseball, etc.

PCL-Injury

  • Incidence rate of PCL tear is about 1.8 times higher in males.
  • PCL Tear occurs at times with meniscal and articular cartilage injury.

Symptoms :

PCL-Injury-Symptoms

  • Swelling (mild to severe)
  • Knee Pain
  • Wobbly sensation in the knee
  • Trouble walking or bearing weight in the knee
  • Most complete tears are extremely painful
  • Initially unable to continue the activity
  • Large effusion / Haemarthrosis
  • Widespread Tenderness
  • Over time, PCL can lead to Osteoarthritis in the Knee
